Swegle.com researcher, Ellwyn Swegle, began as an amateur genealogist and historian for his family in 1963. Since that time, he has accumulated a great deal of information, gained much experience, and is very knowledgeable about several of the main surnames in this line. The information contained in this site is the result of his research. Through diligence and perseverance, he has united over 14,832 names in a database. His interest and research laid the groundwork for this web site. Ellwyn resides in Illinois.

Swegle.com assistant researcher, Karen Swegle Holt, gathered the research of her father (Ellwyn Swegle) and compiled it into two family genealogy books (book details below under the heading Our Publications). As a homeschooling mom, she enjoyed sharing family tidbits with her three children. Two of these children show their interest in family genealogy by helping with the technical side of this web site. Karen now actively helps Ellwyn in the continuing quest for family genealogy. She resides with her husband and family in Pennsylvania.
